Juventud de Torremolinos suffered a narrow defeat at El Pozuelo against Club Polideportivo El Ejido, in a very evenly match that went the way of Almeria in the first half.

The match started with two teams in need of points, Juventud de Torremolinos very well positioned on the pitch, and Polideportivo El Ejido waiting for their chance on the counter.

It didn’t take long for the first to arrive, in the tenth minute, a steal of the ball, which was intercepted by the wizard of Alhaurín on the edge of the area and Dani shot over the crossbar.

The green team continued to insist, with long possessions of the ball, culminating on the right flank, where Javi López was very active.

It was in the 20th minute that Almeria began to create danger, with a great crossing from the left that Juancho headed just wide of Amador’s post.

Minutes later, silence returned with an acrobatic finish from Juancho himself, which went past the Benalmadena goalkeeper.

The game entered a period of uncertainty, with constant fouls from both teams and some shots that were saved without problems by the local goalkeeper.

In the 38th minute and on a counter-attack, a dry shot from the halfway line of the area by Javi Amaya caused problems for Godino, who made a bizarre save, which the Ejidense defense dealt swiftly enough with a ball.

It was in stoppage time when Escardó beat Amador over the top with a soft shot, apparently without problems for the home side’s defense.

With Ejidense winning, it was time for half-time, where the visitors took their chance to take the lead at El Pozuelo.

The second half began, with Ibón Arrieta moving the bench, reinforcing the midfield with the introduction of Machuca, although the game continued with the same dynamic, with Juventud de Torremolinos looking to finish the chances they had.

In the 58th minute, Machuca had the first chance of the second half, a diagonal run by Fran Castillo which culminated in a magnificent pass to Machuca, who took a shot that Godino caught in two minutes.

Another chance for Juventud de Torremolinos, who had the better of the game, with constant approaches to the Almeria goal. In the 68th minute, Fran Castillo fired a powerful shot from outside the area, which went high.

Polideportivo El Ejido had a warning in the 78th minute, with a good individual effort from Mario, who, after getting past two defenders from Torremolinos, put in a good through ball which Álex Robles finished off with a shot, which Amador cleared for a corner with his left hand.

Ibón Arrieta was looking to go forward in attack, and had more strikers on the pitch, with Forján coming on to replace Javi Amaya.

Juventud de Torremolinos continued to look for Godino’s goal, with shots in the final moments, from Machuca that went wide and a shot from Javi López with very good intentions, which finally went high.

With this it came to an end at the El Pozuelo stadium, a win for the visitors in a game in which both teams were looking to get points to get out of the relegation places in Group IV of the Second Federation.
